Hola queridos amigos.

Aunque el núcleo principal y los compositores y arreglistas de nuestros originales somos Sara & Matt nos gusta colaborar con otros músicos tanto en nuestros discos como en directo y en este aspecto nos sentimos más que respaldados y apoyados. Tenemos la inmensa fortuna de poder contar con varios músicos excelentes a la par que amigos que nos acompañan con regularidad al bajo eléctrico, contrabajo y batería dependiendo del momento. Nuestro estilo encaja en el estilo conocido como "Americana Music" aunque nuestras influencias son mucho más amplias, desde el Blues de principios del S.XX al Rockabilly hecho en el sello Sun Records en Memphis, Country & Western, Folk y Rock Sureño. Escribimos nuestro propio material, grabamos y hacemos nuestras actuaciones en Inglés. Nuestra música es siempre bienvenida por audiencias Británicas, Americanas y, generalmente, de habla inglesa. Podemos actuar con o sin amplificación, estrictamente en acústico.

Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt se formaron en Junio de 2013 cuando ambos se conocieron en Valencia y desde entonces han hecho más de 300 conciertos, tienen seis discos auto-publicados y figuran en dos recopilatorios. Su música también es programada frecuentemente en varias estaciones de radio y han sido entrevistados por diversos medios españoles e internacionales. Sara y Matt son amantes declarados de los sonidos clásicos de los años 30, 40 y 50 y colaboran con ellos varios músicos dinámicos y versátiles, con sólidas carreras en la música americana de Raices como el Blues, Country y Rock n Roll. Escriben su propio material que combinan en sus shows con covers de artistas como Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Howlin Wolf, Bob Dylan, Wanda Jackson, Ida Cox, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Lou Ann Barton o Neil Young, por mencionar algunos. 

Los músicos que han acompañado a Sara y Matt en sus directos y grabaciones como sección rítmica, bien con bajo eléctrico o con contrabajo, son respetados y conocidos en la vibrante escena musical valenciana, miembros en un momento u otro de bandas como Los Incorregibles, Rock n Bordes, Renegados, Blackmailers, The Danny Boy Blues Band o Racers Trío. Actualmente actúan como The Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt Band, con el gran Pepe "Pelos" Calle al bajo eléctrico, un gran músico que ha aportado su groove, sólido y armónico a la banda y Terry Hayes a la batería. También hacen algunos shows junto a Isi Rockin al contrabajo y varios músicos a la semibateria y percusión, bajo el nombre de The Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt Four.

SARA GEE & RAMBLIN MATT (ENGLISH)

Hello dear friends,

Let us introduce ourselves, we are a music band called Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt and we perform as a duet with a line up of one acoustic guitar, one lead guitar (Lap Steel Guitar or Slide Dobro insome songs),electric or double bass and the main vocals by Sara with backing vocals by Matt. We also can perform with a rhythm section of double bass and stand up drums if necessary. Our style fits into Americana although our influences are much broader, from early XXth Century Delta Blues to Sun Records Rockabilly, Country & Western, Folk and Southern Rock. We write our owncompositions, record our songs and sing our performances exclusively in English. Our music is always very welcomed by British, American, Dutch and generally, English speaking audiences and we canplay with PA system  or strictly acoustic with any amplification at all.

Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt were formed in June 2013 when they first met in Valencia and ever since have performed over 300 gigs and published six long play CD's and feature intwocompilations,alsotheir music is played regularly in several radio stations and have been interviewed by media and press both from Spain and international.

Sara & Matt are declared lovers of the classic sounds of the 1940s, 50s and even some 60s with a dynamic line up of musicians with a long and solid career in American Roots Musiclike Blues,Country and Rock n Roll writing our own new compositions that we alternate with covers of Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Howlin Wolf, Bob Dylan, Wanda Jackson, IdaCox, DelbertMcClinton, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams or Janis Joplin to mention a few.

Sara and Matt have been backed up in the past for live shows and recordings by a rhythm section of a double bass and stand up drummer formed by respected and experienced musicians of the busy and thriving local scene of Valencia, ex members at one point or another of bands such as Incorregibles, Rock N Bordes, Renegados, Blackmailers or The Danny Boy & Ramblin Matt Blues Revue to mention a few. Nowadays they perform as The Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt Band being backed up on Electric Fender Precission and Fretless Bass by very talented musician Pepe Calle who has brought a fresh and solid groove to the live sets of the duet and Terry Hayes at drums. Also they play some shows with long time friend and talented musician, Isi Rockin at the double bass and several musicians at the stand up drumming, being booked as The Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt Four.  

                   RAMBLIN MATT

Born Mateo Garcia in May 1966 in Valencia, Spain. Matt has been involved in bands and performing since the early eighties. Right now is one half of the upcoming band based in Dénia (Alicante) Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt, with three albums since 2013 along her partner in life Sara Gee. Matt is a composer, arranger, guitar and slide player and singer and his first bands were rockabilly outfits in a time when only few dared to play this type of music in Spain, with bands like The Teddy Terribles, The Dalton Brothers and Ruzafa's Incorregibles. He formedBlackmailers with soul brother and gifted guitar player Silver Borras in 1998 after returning of living in the US for five years (Chicago, LA, Austin). He lived for two years in Africa (Zanzíbar, DarEs Salaam, El Cairo) where he played and interacted with many african musicians.  Between 2006 and 2013 he has been a performing musician in London with his Vintage Rockabilly trio LosJailbreakers, as a solitary act or with The Ramblin' Matt Trio. Meanwhile in London he also was the guitar player of Xsara with gigs in venues such as the famed 100 Club in Oxford Street or Mondo Waterrats and also recorded the guitar in her first album. Matt also was the lead guitar player of the Earth Defender Band, a combo of up to twelve Jamaican and West Indian musicians playing Reggae,Lovers Rock and Old School Ska, backing up a pack of artists including Errol Dunkley or Christine Joy White, and with them he toured the UK in a bus, from Glasgow to Brixton. He returned to Spain in mid 2013 when he meet Sara in a gig in Valencia and decided to stay for good after nearly 20 years away from his land of origin. Matt writes his own material with influences of Blues, Swing, Bop,Rockabilly, Outlaw Country and Southern Rock and also plays bold arrangements of country & delta blues classics from the likes of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Skip James, Son House, BlindLemon Jefferson, Rev. Gary Davis, and Mississippi Fred McDowell among others featuring most of the times only lead vocals and guitar, played with or without slide. Matt is a multi-instrumentist and plays guitar, mandolin, slide, lap steel guitar, electric bass and harmonica. He also cursed a three year Foundation Degree in Music Theory, Harmony and Composition in CityLit College ofLondon.

Nacido Mateo García en Pto. de Sagunto, Valencia, España en 1966, Matt ha estado tocando en bandas y actuando desde los primeros años de la década de los 80. Comenzó tocando en bandas de Rockabilly cuando pocos se atrevían a hacer este género en España, con formaciones como Los Teddy Terribles, Los Dalton o Incorregibles. En 1998, tras regresar de vivir en Estados Unidos durante cinco años (Chicago Austin, L.A.) formó Blackmailers con su gran amigo Silver Borrás, uno de los mejores guitarristas de España sin lugar a dudas, de quien recogió muchísimas influencias. Matt pasó dos años viviendo en África (Zanzíbar, Dar Es Salaam y El Cairo) en donde tocó y aprendió mucho con músicos africanos. Entre los años 2006 y 2013 vivió en Londres dedicándose a la música e hizo cientos de actuaciones con su banda, Los Jailbreakers, en solitario o con The Ramblin Matt Trio en locales de Londres como The Ace Cafe, Dingwalls, 100 Club, Mondo Waterrats, resto del Reino Unido incluyendo Escocia, Sala Paradiso (Amsterdam) y varias actuaciones en España. Durante el tiempo en Londres Matt fue guitarrista de Xsara, con quien grabó las guitarras de su EP de debut "Are You Living in a Paradox?". También fue guitarra solista de The Earth Defender Band, un combo de hasta doce músicos Jamaicanos y Caribeños que hacían Reggae, Ska y Lovers Rock (en el que Matt era el único músico de raza blanca) respaldando a varios artistas del género como Errol Dunkley, Christine Joy-White, Ras Howard o Singin Hannah por nombrar algunos en una gira en autobús por toda Inglaterra y Escocia, acabando con un gran show de despedida en Brixton. Regresó a España en 2013 tras haber conocido a Sara en Valencia y haber decidido ambos formar el dúo Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt, tras más de veinte años fuera de su tierra de nacimiento. Matt escribe su propio material con influencias del Blues, Swing, Bop, Rockabilly, Outlaw Country y Rock Sureño; también toca en solitario osados arreglos de clásicos del Delta y Country Blues de artistas como Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Skip James, Son House, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Rev. Gary Davis o Mississippi Fred McDowell entre otros. Matt es multi instrumentista y además de la guitarra también toca slide en varias afinaciones alternativas, mandolina, slide, lap steel guitar, bajo eléctrico y armónica. También cursó tres años de conservatorio entre 2009 y 2011 y obtuvo un Foundation Degree (carrera media de tres años) en teoría músical, armonía y composición.
